feel
silly asking those needed questions? here's the place
to have them answered...
Q.
Why do I need a web design company? ... I know
someone whose son/daughter can build me a website
A. If
we're honest, we all know someone that knows someone
that can build a website....magazines have been giving
away 'do it yourself' software for years. To have
a website that works well, it's not just how well
it's built, BUT how well it's designed; constructed
and how well it works across the multitude of browsers
and systems that your potential clients use. We fully
test sites for compatibility and speed on various
systems and connections....don't forget....not everyone
has broadband ust quite yet (although we're not far
off now)!!
Q.
I've found a company that can build me a website
for around £100
A. Great!!
Go for it.
We're not here to battle on cost, third level design
prides itself on high quality design and the 10 years
experience and knowledge of the industry it brings
into your project. We NEVER use template designs,
so if you want that all important "can we just
move our logo 5 pixels to the left" change, we'll
do it.....try doing that with a template!!
Q.
What about domain names and hosting of websites/email?
A. In
most cases, any costings we supply will have the first
years hosting included. We use a fully supported hosting
service and the downtime is almost non existent, which
means no loss of business to you.
After the first year the average cost of our clients
hosting is £50, this includes all your website
and email requirements. Some larger sites require
specialist hardware or support, so this cost is discussed
on a needs basis.
Domain names can either be purchased by yourselves
or we will happily do this for you, taking away any
stress that this could bring. Renewals are done yearly
for .com/.biz etc(unless multiple years are initially
purchased) and every 2 years for .co.uk
Q.
I've had problems getting my domain name back
from other companies...who owns my domain name?
A. We
have experienced this alot with our clients, when
they have decided to come and work with third level
design, getting their domain name(s) released has
been the biggest problem.
We will ALWAYS register any domain names we buy under
our agreement under your business name/details,
this does NOT give us ANY legal ownership to those
domains.
Q.
Where will I appear on Google?
A. Probably
one of the most frequently asked questions any web
company will be asked.
We don't sell Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) as
a service simply due to the high costs involved in
doing this correctly. It's not just a matter of optimising
a site and then appearing on the first page of Google
for a week or so, there's a monthly running cost involved
and a lot of work to make sure that you stay where
you are.
If SEO is important and the budget allows, we work
with companies that will get your site seen.
Q.
Can Search Engine Optimisation be done without
the need for a big budget?
A. There
are basic rules that third level design will work
with you to help get your website listed, but we DO
NOT guarantee top listings on search engines.
Optimising your site copy; implementing meta information;
optimising image information are just some of the
basic rules that we follow to get your site seen.
There are also other tools available to us, but these
are supplied at cost.
Q.
What happens if I need support with email
or maintaining my site?
A. If
there's ever a problem (i.e. your email stops working,
or your site has disappeared), we're only a phone
call away and we work on a quick turn around period
to get you up and running again as we know how important
both email and your site are to you.
Not changing your site regularly will make us nervous
for you....giving your pages a freshen up every so
often will keep the site looking vibrant and exciting
and will give your visitors reasons to return. We
work to a PAYG (pay as you go) maintenance agreement
(which suits most people), or a more structured maintenance
contract can be discussed based on your requirements
each month.....just let us know and we'll be happy
to discuss. |
